Nyasa Big Bullets defending mid- fielder, George Nyirenda has apologized the supporters, team officials and every Malawian for his misconduct after being substituted in the first half during a presidential cup match held at Kamuzu stadium on Wednesday against MDF Marine.
During the match, Nyirenda shouted at his teammates, and insulted the supporters after the coach Franco Ndawa replaced him with Davie Ng’ambi due to his poor performance. Instead of going directly to sit at a substitute bench, he went straight to the dressing room and didn’t come back.
Yesterday in an interview, Nyirenda has apologized that his conduct in that match was immature and foolish.
“What happened in football pitch yesterday was much unexpected development, nobody even I could not think that I might act that way. People do know me as good person, but all that come out of bad temper. This was because, the way I needed to play that match, the way I played wrongly and later on to be substituted at such early minutes. In all I did, I admit that I did wrong thing, my reaction could not depict any good character of me, that was not the way people know me as George, it was very bad act.
I apologize to all supporters, all executives of Bullets, and every Malawian for what I did that day, wasn’t good thing. What I did was not meant that am too big to team,” he said.
