Football Association of Malawi’s disciplinary committee has released a press which demonstrated that they have given one year ban to Willy Yabwanya Phiri, and Wilkins Mijiga from Football Activities for taking Football Matters to Court.
These two people last year failed in elections for FAM positions they were very frustrated and confused. They thought that the election was not conducting fairly. Therefore, the two took the matter to court.
Following that the two were charged with taking a football dispute to a conventional court after they tried to stop FAM elections through an injunction on December 12.
Willy Yabwanya and Mijiga contested for the presidency during the FAM polls but lost to Walter Nyamilandu Manda
The bans are effective 12th May 2016.
However, Sulom Treasurer Tiya Somba Banda who was answering the same charge has been cleared of wrong doing as the committee found that he did not instruct his lawyer to take the matter to court.
He contested for the Vice Presidency of FAM, but also lost.
