Malawi National Council of Sports Executive Secretary, George Jana, has responded to government proposal of not using road transport to Zimbabwe so he said they do not see any danger with the Flames travelling to Botswana through Mozambique.
In regards to the political conflicts in Mozambique between government and main opposition party, Renamo forces, the government of Malawi suggested that Flames should use airplane for their safety.
However, Jana said vehicles are using the road without any reported incidents.
“Is the same road that vehicles continue to use and I do not see any danger with the Flames using the same road,” he said.
He further pointed out that the four Malawians, who died as they were traveling from South Africa through Maputo, incident happened far away from normal used road.
