George Nyirenda, Nyasa Big Bullets player face disciplinary action following his misconduct.
According to a Bullets Executive Committee member, the players were prohibited from commenting in the press without being authorised.
“Only the captain and his deputies are entitled to make statements in the press. After games, we will also give them freedom to comment about their individual performances, especially when they win man-of-the match awards.
However, the Nyirenda courted controversy when he made remarks in the press. Nyirenda issued his apology to the media.
According to the official, Nyirenda faces three charges relating to his behaviour after he remonstrated against his substitution against MDF Marine last week.
“He also absconded from training on Thursday and Friday. So, he will have to defend himself,” he said.
Bullets Technical Director, Billy Tewesa, confirmed that player reported for training on Tuesday, but he would wait for the executive committee’s consent to feature him again.
“George came to us and apologised. As a technical panel, we have forwarded the message to the executive committee to guide us,” he said.
Bullets Vice-General Secretary, Kelvin Moyo, confirmed that the player would face disciplinary action.
Fischer Kondowe is also facing disciplinary action on same misconduct.
