Nyasa Big Bullets and Mighty Be Forward Wanderers yesterday have gone to a 1-1draw in fundraising match for Bullets goalkeeper Vincent Gona at Kamuzu Stadium.
The faces of both team players seemed a bit new most of their regular players who are with the national team at the COSAFA tournament in Namibia.
Bullets were first to keep clean sheet through Davie Ng’ambi before Wanderers pulled level a few minutes later through defender Wongani Kaipa.
The game fruited into goals only in first half while in second; no ball went into a net of each side. Despite Wanderers were a better in the second half on possession but they totally failed to score.
It was the first game people saw the Wanderers player, Genki Nakamura who is back from holiday and being featured at the last quarter of this match.
Bullets Team Manager Rahim Ishmael said they were happy with the result as the whole purpose was to fundraise for Gona.
Wanderers Team Manager Steve Madeira concurred with the development and said that supporters were the overall winners on the day.
Gona was very happy as the match had many turn-ups so, the required K3.5 million to enable him undergo medical treatment at Beit Cure International Hospital has been achieved.
