Malawi has failed to proceed into quarterfinals following their defeat 0-1 to Lesotho on Thursday night in Group B knock-out game at the Windhoek in Namibia.
Malawi did not play a kind of football that would take them to victory, rather were just chasing a ball on pitch, while the Lesotho missed numerous opportunities before the break time.
In second half, the ball continued refusing to stay on players’ feet of Flames which granted a chance for Jane Thaba-Ntso headed the winning goal for Lesotho at exactly 83 minute.
Flames coach Ernest Mtawali has accepted that his side did not deserve to beat Lesotho.
“We did not play with aggression. We could not win the match,” Mtawali worried.
The worried Mtawali also disclosed that the Flames are coming home empty-handed which is very embarrassing.
Lesotho has gone into quarterfinals where they will take on South Africa on this coming Saturday.
