Russia has failed to continue with Euro 2016 Tournament in France as they were beaten 3-0 by Wales in Toulouse Stadium on Monday.
The result has dropped them to the bottom spot in Group B. They leave the tournament having picked up just one point.
“I would like to apologise to the Russian supporters for our performances, and to the fans in the stadium and watching at home on TV; they did not deserve this.
“I take responsibility. I had enough time to find players. If we did not succeed it is truly my mistake. Someone should take over,”said Russian coach Leonid Slutski.
Slutski who succeeded Fabio Capello in August last year has asked to resign following the poor performances of his side at Euro 2016.
