Moyale Barracks striker Gastin Simkonda has just entered into the Golden Boot Award chase after scoring a hat-trick on Sunday he has gate-crashed.
Simkoma has just re-joined the TNM Super League in its fifth week as he has on Malawi Defence Force assignment in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Simkonda has really returned with bounce with scoring three goals in 5-3 win over Epac FC in Lilongwe.
The 2014 Golden Boot Award winner said the best was yet to come from him.
“I am fortunate that I found the league in the early stages. Am I still good? That is up to my coach and the public to judge. I feel that my form can get better, so winning the Golden Boot is very much possible,” he said.
Simkonda has joined in the Golden Boot race the likes of Chiukepo Msowoya, Peter Wadabwa (who scored a hat-trick in 3-1 win over Red Lions on Saturday) and Richard Mbulu of Nyasa Big Bullets, Be Forward Wanderers and Mafco, respectively. Msowoya and Mbulu lead on five goals each.
