Nyasa Big Bullets have been charged for pitch invasion after their supporters invaded the pitch as the final whistle told them that their side were champions of 2016 presidential cup, they then went to cerebrate inside football ground which is contrary to the competition’s rules and regulations.
Following that, Football Association of Malawi (Fam) through its press release statement on Monday gave Bullets 48 hours to respond to the charge.
“Fam charged BB for displaying unsporting behavior during their game against Moyale Barracks at Civo Stadium in Lilongwe on Saturday, July 16, 2016,” part of statement reads.
Bullets chairperson, Sam Chilunga, thought that the fine is high and they want to negotiate with Fam.
“It is unfortunate. The emotions were high during the game, but I think going forward, as clubs we need to educate our fans because our infrastructure is not in the right way to prevent such things,” Chilunga said.
Since the Chilunga is being aware of that, the cup’s rules and regulations which state clearly that a club that fails to control its supporters not to invade into pitch shall be fined K500, 000.
