Dwangwa united players have succeeded in asking the club officials that their head coach MacDonald Mtetemera should be fired as the team continue to register poor results, having played 11 TNM Super League matches where they have just managed to get only six points.
According to the senior players in club they have said clearly that they did not want him as their head coach.
Current information indicates that the team’s executive concurrently has now Mtetemera, where his deputy, Bentley Mhango has taken over.
Dwangwa United General Secretary Samson Zimba confirmed the development to this publication saying the team’s poor run of form was the main reason behind the decision to suspend Mtetemera but distanced himself from reports that players have demended for his removal as the team’s head coach.
“Yes, we have suspended MacDonald Mtetemera due to the team’s poor run of form in the top flight which has seen us dropping into the bottom three so as the executive, we thought it wise to suspend him”.
“At the moment, deputy coach Bentley Mhango is now in charge of the team until we sort everything out. I don’t want to comment on reports that players don’t want Mtetemera as their head coach, all I can say is that we are not doing well in the league and it is everyone’s responsibility to turn things around,” he said.
However, Mtetemera has chosen to remain quite on this development.
