The Ministry of Sports and Culture has appreciated Limbe Leaf Tobacco Company for sponsoring grassroots football and netball for 36 years.
Speaking at this year’s tournament finals at Silver Stadium in Lilongwe on Saturday where some primary schools emerged champions and received trophies, Chief Sports Officer, Joseph Kayamba praised the company.
“The company has been a true partner in developing sports in the country. The sponsorship has brought forward many talented players,” Kayamba said.
Limbe Leaf Legal and Corporate Affairs Director, Febbie Chikungwa, said their company knows that sports are important to the life in general.
“As Limbe Leaf, we believe that sports can change people’s lives. Whether as a participant or a spectator, people engage in sport in such a manner that it can make a huge difference to health and lifestyles,” Chikungwa said.
The company spent K11 million towards this year’s tournament.
