Tereza Master and Harry Sichali have won this year’s 21-kilometre Ku Chawe race on Saturday in their respective categories at Zomba Gymkhana club.
The Mulanje based Master beat other female athletes and finished the race in 1hour, 20 minutes and 56 seconds that broke last year’s record in the competition of female athlete.
On the other hand, Sichali who last year finished on 10th position set a new record for the competition having finished the 21-kilometre race in 1hour, 7minutes and 46 seconds beating again last year’s record set by Stuart Banda who finished the race after 1hour and 10 minutes.
Both Master and Sichali received K300 hundred thousand plus two nights’ accommodation on full board for two people at any Sunbird hotel.
Speaking during prize presentation, deputy director of sports in the Ministry of Sports and Culture, Justice Msopera gave credit to Sunbird Hotels and Tourism for sponsoring the competition.
