Brendan Galloway is expected to seal a season-long loan move to West Brom today.
The 20-year-old is understood to be travelling to the West Midlands today ahead of completing the deal.
Galloway had looked set to move to Newcastle United but Everton decided to accept an offer from the Baggies.
It is understood that the Championship side were hoping to agree a loan move with a view to making it a permanent transfer.
But West Brom will just take Galloway on loan from the remainder of the season.
Baggies’ boss Tony Pulis was forced to deploy Jonny Evans at left-back against Everton on Saturday and so Galloway could find himself straight in the team for tomorrow night’s EFL Cup tie at Northampton.
Blues boss Ronald Koeman is allowing Galloway to leave on a short-term deal having bolstered his central defensive options with Ashley Williams.
Everton also remain hopeful of signing Lamine Kone from Sunderland.
Leighton Baines is Everton’s first-choice left-back with Koeman believing Bryan Oviedo provides adequate back-up.
Luke Garbutt, another left-back, has been allowed to join Wigan Athletic on loan until January.
