Despite the impressive start netball tournament in Botswana, Malawi Under-21 National Netball team failed to qualify for next year’s Netball World Youth Cup (NWYC).
Junior Queens started with beating Lesotho 81-11 and Namibia 48- 30, but did not continue in such run as they only won Botswana 40-38 in following matches.
As they first lost to Zimbabwe 52-23 on Wednesday and thereafter they knocked out by South Africa 55-32, on Thursday.
The Queens were further humiliated by Uganda 34-29 on Friday before lost 35-34 to Zambia in their last match in tournament
Following such poor development, the Junior Queens finished fifth and sold their chances of qualifying for next year’s tournament.
While South Africa finished on top with 14 points whereas Zimbabwe were second with 12 points.
The countries which have qualified for next year tournament are Botswana , Uganda, Zimbabwe and South Africa.
