Silver Strikers FC has knocked out Mafco 3-1 on Sunday, August 28, 2016 and they have bought their ticket to a Carlsberg Cup final.
Silver has joined Mighty Be Forward Wanderers in finals as the opponent defeated 1nil Mangochi Police on Saturday through a help of their supporters after beating the Mangochi Goalkeeper.
The Mafco on Sunday bounced into the pitch with the same hope of repeating what they did to Nyasa Big Bullets but thing turned out to be different.
Silvers were just like unbeaten ghost that could not fear even terrified guns held by solders, they indeed gave the opponent no chance.
After the match, Silver’s coach Lovemore Fazili saluted his boys for making it to the final.
“I’m very happy with what the boys have done. They were very committed and played according to our game plan. We pressurised Mafco from the start to finish and could have won this game by a wider margin,” said Fazili.
Mafco chairman Captain Peter Ng’oma did swallow his pride and accepted the defeat.
“It is painful to lose but we have to accept Silver Strikers played much better than us. We just wish them all the best in the final,” said Ng’oma.
