Malawi Defence Force a boxer, Wilson Masamba has challenged his former rival, Osgood Kayuni, as they meet in an eight-round lightweight non-title contest on September 24.
The former national junior welterweight champion, Kayuni and the ex-featherweight champion, Masamba, signed contracts at Chombe Tea offices in Blantyre on Saturday.
Masamba has described the bout as it is payback time for Kayuni.
“I know that Kayuni is a good boxer, but this time around, I will expose him. Any mistake from him, then he is gone. I also thank Mike Chitenje for offering us good contracts,” he said.
While Kayuni pledged to beat Masamba for the third time.
“The promoter has done well and I really salute him. However, Masamba should forget about winning. I will torment him once again,” he said.
Mulanje Last Boxing Promotions will promote the fight for the third time having sourced sponsorship from Chombe Foods Limited.
Chitenje hailed Chombe for bankrolling the fight.
“Chombe has always been our partners. I organised this fight following calls from Masamba. He says he wants revenge so I have given him the platform,” he said.
The boxers met twice in 2012 when Kayuni won both fights, on unanimous decision then on a technical knockout.
