Nyasa Big Bullets’ bid for singing Lucky Malata has been turned down by Silver strikers’ officials.
According to Silver General Secretary, Thabo Chakaka-Nyirenda, confirmed receipt of the bid on Monday by Bullets but he said that Malata is going nowhere in the ongoing transfer window.
“The player is not for sale. We can’t sell our inform players to a local club,” Chakaka-Nyirenda said yesterday.
Bullets have been long time admirers of Malata and the player has been linked with a move to the club for the past two seasons.
In a letter signed by General Secretary, Kelvin Moyo, Bullets have requested Silver to disclose their asking price for the former Flames vice skipper.
“Bullets would like to declare its intent to purchase Malata. Please make your offer, in the same vein, we would like to be given permission to talk to the player during this transfer window,” reads part of the letter from Bullets.
When contacted yesterday, Malata said he was happy to stay at Silver.
“I am really enjoying my career at Silver and I am not thinking of leaving the club for a local club,” he said.
Bullets and Silver are also battling for the signature of former Wizards attacker, Thuso Paipi, who is on loan at the Central Bankers.
