The former Malawi National Team defender   Patrick Mabedi has been appointed as  Cape Town All Stars Football Club head coach in South Africa.

In the statement released by the club on Monday, Mabedi is expected to join the club and start his job on Wednesday.

“Cape Town All Stars Football Club can confirm the identity of our new head coach-Former Kaizer Chiefs and Malawi international defender Patrick Mabedi” reads the statement.

General Manager Faeez Dulvie feels the newly-appointed head coach is the right man to take the club forward.

“The club considered several options for the vacant head coach position, but decided Patrick Mabedi was the best fit for Cape Town All Stars.

“Patrick is an ambitious young coach who is highly qualified, having done his Uefa A and B Licenses in Germany. We expect him to bring renewed energy and enthusiasm to the team as we look to turn around a poor start to the campaign,”said Dulvie.

Mabedi assisted Flames  to beat Swaziland recently in 2017 Afcon qualifiers’ match  as he was Assistant Coach to  care taker coach Burundian Nsazurwimo Ramadhan.

Mabedi holds a UEFA coaching licence A and B obtained in Germany.
