Mzuzu derby battle yielded to futile as Moyale Barracks and Mzuni football club ended up in draw that made no one come out with full points at Mzuzu Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Mzuni started the match with good space that took them to score first through Lughindiko Mushani.
The goal pressed an emergency button that forced Moyale to dominate in the pitch as they needed to equalize which really happened through Steve Mkandawire at exactly 13 minutes before half time.
Come the second half, both teams were playing more defensive football no wonder none found the goal in this half.
Post-match interviews, the Students’ Coach, Alex Ngwira, blamed his boys for failing to utilise opportunities they got.
“We missed a lot of chances but all in all it is a fair result to us as you know Moyale has never won against us since we joined the super league.
“We are going to work on where our weakness were today, come next game against Nyasa Big Bullets things will be fine,” said Ngwira.
While Moyale Barracks coach Collins Nkuna praised his boys and saying Mzuni is a good side.
“Thanks to my boys for coming up with this result as you know Mzuni is also a good side so to us we can’t say its a bad result,” said Nkuna.
Following this result, Mzuni have now moved down to 6th position with 28 points while Moyale are coming on 7th with 27 points, both from 17 matches.
