Nyasa Big Bullets frustrated Red Lions with 3-3 draw in the TNM Super League encounter where solders at first it seemed to be their day at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre on Monday afternoon.
The Red Lions jumped into the pitch like predators ready to punish preys as on the 20th minute of the first half when Kelvin Katema tapped in Peter Makwale free kick which was played from outside the box.
The goal was a mark that described seriousness Zomba based soldiers as they started dominating, passing easily through the Bullets midfielders that was full of cracks.
This magnificent pace made solders doubled their lead when Loti Chawinga scored as he found himself in a one on one situation with the Nyasa Big Bullets goalkeeper Ernest Kakhobwe.
A few minutes later the soldiers were reduced to ten men when referee in charge of the game, Kananji, showed a second yellow card to Chawinga after he dived outside the penalty box.
First half ended when Bullets were losing 2-0.
After the recess, Nyasa Big Bullets came in with new tactics as they were in search for their most vital goals of the afternoon.
That team sprit after Five minutes Bullets awarded when Muhammad Sulumba pulled a goal back after he jumped beyond everyone in the Soldiers’ penalty area to head the ball into the net.
The goal activated the anger the visitors as they scored their third goal Twelve minutes into the second half when Peter Makwale capitalised on a Miracle Gabeya blunder inside the Bullets 18 yard box and put his side on 3-1 lead.
Midway through the second half Chiukepo Msowoya scored Bullets’ second goal through another header, this time from a Joseph Anzeru corner kick.
Bullets then was in search of equalizing so they no chance again to Solders and In the dying minutes of the second half Bullets coach introduced Collen Khulambe on the place of Dalitso Sailesi and a few minutes later Khulambe levelled the scoreline.
The defending champions however failed to find the winner as the Soldiers held on and the game ended 3-all.
After the match Bullets team manager Rahim Ishmael congratulated Red Lions for demonstrating good football at Kamuzu stadium. Ishmael also thanked his boys for a point earned.
On his part Red Lions coach Prichard Mwansa said Loti Chawinga’s red card affected them but he hailed his boys for holding Big Bullets.
