Flames’ midfielder, Chimango Kaira, has been linked with a return to TNM Super League defending champions, Nyasa Big Bullets, from Mozambique’s Costa do Sol.
In an interview from Maputo over the weekend, the former Escom United play-maker, could neither confirm nor deny reports that he was considering terminating his contract with Costa.
“I cannot divulge any information at the moment. I still have three games to wrap up the season. I am focusing on the games so that we should finish the season on a high,” Kaira said in a written response.
Bullets’ Acting-General Secretary, Kelvin Moyo, confirmed that the club was interested in Kaira’s services after hearing reports that he wanted to return home.
“He is a quality player but let us wait because he is a player for Costa at the moment. He will always be welcomed at Bullets whenever he wants to come back,” Moyo explained about the player who joined Costa from Bullets in 2014.
Kaira almost quit Costa last year following disagreements over his salary and signing-on fees.
Bullets are also interested in signing Chibuto FC forward, Chawanangwa Kawonga, who is set to leave the Mozambican club after the expiry of his contract this month. Silver Strikers are also interested in Kawonga.
Many Malawian players are returning home. Recently, Joseph Kamwendo rejoined Be Forward Wanderers after terminating his contract with Liga Desportiva de Maputo.
