Nyasa Big Bullets and Be Forward Wanderers have reversed their decision of not having a police for security measures at Kamuzu Stadium on Saturday afternoon match.
According to the letter dated 04/10/16 which Malawi-sports.com seen, both teams advised the Super League of Malawi (Sulom) to find an alternative security organization other than using use the police and stewards during the match.
Both Clubs stated it clear that they were ready to provide 40 people each to work as stewards during the match day.
According to both clubs, whenever chaos erupts during matches they are them who get punished other than the Police and Stewards whom they pay to ensure that there is stability.
But speaking in an interview on Friday morning, Sulom’s Tiya Somba Banda, said Nomads and Bullets have reversed their initial decision.
“We can confirm that these two teams have reversed their decision and we are going to have the Police officers on the match day,” said Banda.
He added on that Malawi Police Service has assured people that there will be maximum security as more than 120 officers have been deployed.
“We have agreed that over 140 Police officers will be there and the police have assured us of maximum security” added Banda.
