Epac coach, Audloy Makonyola has praised his side for booting out Moyale Barracks, from the Fisd Challenge Cup on Saturday.
“We were playing away from home and against a side which kicked us out of Presidential Cup. They came into this match with confidence and they really made it difficult for us throughout the game,” Makonyola explained in a post-match interview at Mzuzu Stadium.
“Nobody gave us a chance to overcome Moyale, but I told my players to hang on and we really defended solidly. This was the game I feared the most but now we have passed the test. I believe that we will continue to do well in the competition.”
While Moyale coach, Collins Nkuna, was left frustrated by his charges’ poor finishing.
“Our problems have been the same. We are creating chances but we are failing to utilise them, as such we are being punished,” he said.
The 2016 Carlsberg Cup finalists, Moyale, lost 5-4 on post-match penalties after Khuda Muyaba’s decisive penalty was saved by Epac’s shot-stopper, Tione Tembo.
Moyale have themselves to blame for the loss as they squandered many scoring opportunities.
