Blue Eagles football club continue to struggle  in second round, as they are thumped by Karonga United at Mzuzu Stadium on Sunday.

Khumbo Msowoya sealed a 2-1 win for his side through his two goals  over Eagles.

While Victor Nyirenda, scored only goal for the Lilongwe based law enforcers.

Karonga United coach, Oscar Kaunda, disclosed that he knows any secret behind Eagles success hence it was easy to beat them.

” I just encouraged my boys that we can do it, I know Blue Eagles very well because I was once the player for this team and I know every corner,” said the former Civo United Coach.

Kaunda whose first match was this one barely days after replacing Kondwani Mwalweni at the Club added on that the win has encouraged them.

“This means a lot to us that everything can be done so this has encouraged us,” he added.

While  Eagles Coach Derklerk Msakakuona admitted in a post match interview on Sunday that the second round is a bit tough as previously they beat Moyale Barracks 1-o.

“We knew they will come hard on us, they got two chances of which they utilised, second round is a bit tough,” said Msakakuona.

Despite the win, the  Karonga are still in the relegation zone with 21 points from 23 matches and are required to do better at least 80 percent in their remaining seven league matches.

If Eagles had won could have climbed up to the top of the table but they have failed to do so. They are now on 4th position with 42 points and are only two points behind the league leaders, Mafco football club who have got 44 points.
