Four Malawian boxers, Chimwemwe Chiotcha, Limbani Masamba, Charles Misanjo and Chikondi Makawa have left the country for Namibia on Saturday to take part in international fights.
According to reports, Chiotcha will face Namibian, Walter Kautondokwa, in a 12-round World Boxing Organisation-Africa middleweight title.
In a six-round welterweight non-title bout, Masamba will take on Jatoorora Tjingaveta whereas Misanjo will meet Emmanuel Mungandjala in another six-round welterweight non-title contest.
No Pain No Gain Boxing Promotions’ Managing Director, Craig Rousseau, and Malawi Professional Boxing Control Board (MPBCB) representative, Mbachichi Nyirenda, said they were confident that the four boxers will win the bouts in Namibia.
“They have left much earlier because we want them to get acclimatised in Namibia,” Rousseau said.
