Some of football’s greatest stars of all-time took to the pitch once again for a charity match in Rome last night.

The ‘United for Peace’ game was arranged by Pope Francis and took place in Roma’s Stadio Olympic.

While the fans in attendance would have been delighted to see the likes of Diego Maradona, Francesco Totti and Gianluca Zambrotta – the star of the show was undoubtedly Ronaldinho.

The Brazilian may have been on the losing white team – who were beaten 4-3 by the blue team – but the 36-year-old was a box of tricks during the 90 minutes.

Throughout his playing days, the midfield was seen with a smile on his face no matter the opposition or the occasion. And it was no different during this charity match.

While the disagreement between Maradona and Juan Sebastian Veron may have been the talking point after the encounter, Ronaldinho turned on the style on numerous occasions.

He dinked a lovely cross for Frederic Kanoute to head in an equaliser after five minutes but his best moment was a nonchalant piece of skill during the first-half.

The ball was played to Ronaldinho in the middle of the pitch. Many players would just control the ball on his chest being finding a teammate with a pass.

However, this is Ronaldinho we’re talking about. Instead, he turned his back, ensuring the ball bounced off it and into the path of Veron.

It looks simple, it looks easy, but only Ronaldinho would have the audacity to pull something like this off
