Football Association of Malawi (FAM) say will hire an expatriate Coach to lead Malawi National Team, Flames as local coaches can not improve Football standards in Malawi at moment.
Members of Football Association of Malawi (FAM) agreed this at their meeting they had in Mzuzu last weekend that they should hire a Foreign Coach.
FAM’s general secretary, Suzgo Nyirenda, confirmed the development to the press after the meeting as he claimed that the foreign Coach will help to improve Flames’ football standards.
Flames coaching job is currently vacant following the expiring of one month contract of Burundian Coach, Swanzurwimo Ramadhan, on 10th September this year.
Ramadhan was hired to replace Ernest Mtawali whose contract expired at the end of the month of July 2016 and FAM thought of not renewing it due to the poor performance of the Flames under his leadership.
Ramadhan was an assistant coach during Mtawali’s tenure but FAM gave the Burundian the second chance after it was reported that their relationship was very poor.
