The Northern Region Referees Committee has suspended officiation of the TNM Super League matches at the Karonga stadium over insecurity.
A letter signed by the committee’s Chairperson Misheck Juba and his General Secretary Clemence Kanduku, this follows the beating of referees who were officiating a league match between Karonga United and Silver Strikers on Sunday.
The regional officiating body fears that a life may be lost at the venue and has since asked the Super League of Malawi-SULOM as well as the National Referees Association-NRA to address their concerns.
SULOM and the NRA are yet to comment on the development.
